Ruby Balcazar, is the Clinical Program Director & board secretary of Council on Adolescent Mental Health. Ruby has been in clinical practice for over a decade. Having worked in private practice, the nonprofit industry, and the public school system, Ruby brings a wealth of experience to CAMH to better serve our population. Ruby has worked with domestic violence victims, the LGBTQ+ community, patients with postpartum depression, different hispanic communities, and adolescents of all ages. As a result, she is able to empathize and understand the needs of central coast teens.
Ruby has volunteered with local nonprofits organizations supporting mental health and LGBTQ+ rights; and in lieu has also served as a guest graduate psychology lecturer discussing such topics.
Ruby completed her graduate studies at Chapman University in psychology as well as marriage and family therapy; she is a licensed psychotherapist (LMFT #119205) in the state of California. In addition, Ruby holds five undergraduate degrees in business administration, psychology, behavioral science, social science, and liberal arts.Â
